Chances are if you’ve spent much time in Rabun County, you have been to The Dillard House. The Dillard family settled the area in the late 1700s, and they and other families built a haven for travelers and residents that made life in the rugged mountains a little easier. Today, antique shops and restaurants line the streets, and the Dillard House continues to be a mast in the community. Don’t miss the July 4th fireworks show that draws just about everybody in the county together. Dillard is a quiet community and homes here are typically older and have been remodeled or restored. There are several subdivisions with beautiful custom homes as well.
