Chattooga River Water Gauge

January 17, 2013

We have had one heck of a soaking rain for the past several days in Rabun County.  This will hopefully put an end to any drought remnants and get the water table back up to normal.  Chattooga River was running up around 4 feet today, which is about 2 feet higher than good rafting water.

Check out current conditions at the Highway 76 Bridge on the Chattooga River near Clayton by linking here to the USGS website.

This photo was taken in 2007 during some of the lowest water I’ve seen on the Chattooga, barely inches on the gauge located just downstream from this bridge.
